Our Vision
To be a church that is committed to
‘Bringing glory to God through calling all to delight in Him as their ultimate treasure’
Our Mission
We exist to bring glory to God through:
– Connecting people to Christ
– Transforming people in Christ
– Serving people for Christ
Our Values
We intend to shape our ministry around the following values:
Grace: Resting in God’s Work
We are God’s adopted children; united with Christ through the Holy Spirit.
We rest in the Bible’s teaching that our status before God has nothing to do with our character or performance,
but is based solely upon God’s grace in the cross of Christ.
We rest in the knowledge that our spiritual growth has nothing to do with our efforts,
but the Spirit’s power working in us (Eph 2:8-9; Eph 3:14-19).
Church: Delighting in God’s Worth
We believe gathering together for the Sunday Service is the high-point of a Christian’s weekly worship. We live all of life in worship (ascribing ultimate worth) to God, yet delight in corporate worship as the best form of rest; rest in the Lord (Heb 10:24-25; Heb 4:9).
The Bible: Rejoicing in God’s Word
We long to see God’s glory, which he reveals to us through his word. We rejoice in seeing more of God each and every day by reading and meditating on the Bible. In response to the grace of God revealed in the Scriptures, we gladly shape our lives by all that the Bible tells us (Ex 33:18-35:7; 2 Tim 3:14-17).
Prayer: Enjoying God’s Ear
We are amazed at the enormous privilege of being able to speak to the Lord Almighty. We believe prayer is first and foremost a response to the relationship God initiated with us. As such we enjoy prayer not to get things from God, but to get God himself. In prayer we declare our utter dependence on God for all things, and rejoice that God uses our prayers to bring about his good purposes (Jer 29:10-14; Acts 1:14).
Outreach: Sharing in God’s Mission
We rest in the fact that God does not need us to expand his kingdom, yet marvel at how he wants to use us. We joyfully do our part in God’s mission by inviting people to church, and looking for opportunities to share our faith. We call upon God in prayer to do his part, by preparing the hearts of those in our lives to accept our invitations, and to believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ (Mat 28:19-20; 1 Pet 3:15).
Fellowship: Caring for God’s People
We acknowledge that the church is God’s blessing to his people; not just for being mutually encouraged in our faith, but for being nurtured and cared for in the community of believers. We yearn for genuine and loving relationships with our church community, and desire newcomers to be warmly welcomed into our fellowship (Rom 1:12; James 2:14-17).
Justice: Distributing God’s Provisions
We believe people are made in God’s image, and should be treated with love and dignity. We freely use the provisions God has blessed us with to care for the physical, emotional and psychological needs of the poor, the marginalised and the oppressed, through practical and financial support (Gal 2:10; Mat 25:31-46).
