If I’m being perfectly honest, I don’t find feet very attractive. I won’t even touch my wife’s feet unless they’ve just been washed. Yet the Bible says there are some feet that are beautiful.
Romans 10:15 “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
Having never laid eyes on Kingsley and Veronika Box’s feet, we can declare with good authority that their feet are beautiful. They have left the comfort of their home country to be sent to Slovenia to preach the message of Jesus to those who don’t believe. Their children’s feet are beautiful too. It is very difficult growing up in a culture different from your own. Missionary children are known as ‘third culture kids’. They don’t really belong to their birth country culture; nor do they belong to their adopted culture. What a beautiful sacrifice to make for Jesus; to grow up in a ‘third culture’. Let us pray that God would multiply those with ‘beautiful feet’.
Yet being sent abroad to preach Jesus isn’t for everyone. Thankfully we can still have an impact for mission by partnering with our link missionaries. First and foremost this involves prayer. The wisest Christians are the ones who spent the most time on their knees. We can also give financially to CMS, or other mission organisations. And we can care for our link missionaries through receiving their prayer letters (to pray in an informed way), through sending emails/letters/photos, or by finding other small ways to show them you are partnering with them (e.g. birthday cards).
So let us do our part in bringing the good news to those who have not yet called on the Lord.
